It is not insurance and does not satisfy the requirements of minimum essential coverage under the Affordable Care Act. We recommend pairing a CarePass membership with a high-deductible health plan or a health-share program for catastrophic coverage.
Direct Primary Care is a model where patients pay a flat monthly fee directly to their physician's practice in exchange for unlimited access — office visits, virtual visits, text messages, and care coordination — without insurance in between. Studies suggest DPC handles 80–90% of the healthcare concerns a typical adult runs into in a year.
